New Additions

It's been awhile since I contributed to our blog, so I get to put the most important news of all up: we have a new addition to the family!

This is my new acer 5920, which I'm dual booting with Ubuntu and Vista (I know, but that's what it came with). Ubuntu is for work, vista for play. It's my first laptop with a dedicated graphics card, and now that I've sorted out the sound driver problem, it plays everything I wanted. For the tech geeks (3gb Ram, 250 gb hd, 1.6 ghz core 2 duo, 8600 gt 256mb).

Of course, I'm not the only one to get a new addition, This is what Chantelle got:

We like to refer to it as our little monster. It was a bit of a surprise, but one that we are both really happy about. It somewhat explains our paucity of post, we've been busy with other things.

We actually had our first ante-natal class at the weekend, which was a combination of informative and calculatedly terrifying. Basically a series of helpful hints, and generally pretty obvious don'ts and warning signs. Apart from that, we're doing the traditional activities, procuring clothes, taking photos, having stupidly large numbers of doctors appointments.

From here on in it just gets busier, more courses, more appointments, more wife (I kid). On the upside, the end of the first trimester means less of the downsides of pregnancy: morning sickness, moodswings, etc. We've also got the big scan coming up, which weans we'll be able to drop the neuter, and move the a more personal pronoun.

So that's us, Reid's plus 1:
